About Our WORK
Advocating Change
A Decade of Compassion: The Story of Worcestershire Homeless Appeal
Ten years ago, what began as a small, heartfelt dream, an idea to bring comfort and hope to those in need—has blossomed into something truly extraordinary. The Worcestershire Homeless Appeal started with humble beginnings, but today, it stands as a testament to the power of community, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Over the past decade, we have grown far beyond what we ever imagined. From providing thousands of hot meals and drinks through our street kitchen for the homeless to distributing countless items of clothing, we have been privileged to serve those who needed it most. Our journey expanded further with the creation of a community pantry and fridge nearly seven years ago, where we’ve saved thousands of tons of food from going to landfill. Instead, that food has been transformed into life-saving parcels, nourishing families and individuals not just in our local community but in surrounding areas as well.
People often ask us, “Why do you do this?” The answer is simple yet profound: to bring happiness. Every day, every week, every month, we strive to make life a little brighter for someone else. It hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, tough days, and moments of doubt. But through it all, the rewards of seeing smiles, hearing words of gratitude, and knowing we’re making a difference have made every effort worthwhile.
Our journey has taken us from the back of a small van to operating out of two dedicated units. This growth is a reflection of the love and support we’ve received from so many people. To our incredible volunteers who give their time and energy, to our generous donors who believe in our mission, and to our supporters who stand by us every step of the way, we simply could not have done this without you.
As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey. Your belief in what we do has fueled our passion and enabled us to achieve more than we ever thought possible.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, for standing with us, and for helping us create a brighter, kinder, and more compassionate community. Here’s to the next ten years of hope, love, and making a difference—together.

Droitwich Community Pantry & Fridge
preventing food waste
One of our main causes here at Droitwich Community Pantry & Fridge is Feeding Children and their families, an issue that touches many lives, particularly those in Droitwich Spa and surrounding areas. We spend a significant portion of our resources on tackling this problem. See how you can help by reading more or contacting one of our representatives.

COVID-19 Pandemic
Our volunteers
During the pandemic the
volunteers continued providing the service putting their own and health and safety on hold to help the communities and individuals supported. Across the three groups in Worcester, Malvern, Droitwich, Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport, Evesham and Pershore, as at 26th August 2021 they have provided the food for 362,176 meals. 81,984 of these meals have been for children and the Malvern team have produced 1,600 hot meal parcels for individuals, couples and families. On top of this during the 2020 October half term they supported the Marcus Rashford’s campaign and provided 1,080 packed lunches over the 7 days. This support is continuing on through the 2021 summer holidays by providing children’s recipe bags for the 6 weeks a total of 1296 bags.
